User Reviews for 9th Mile Dhaba - Royal Orchid Resort
Been going to Yelahanka for work bi-monthly for the last two years and had only once visited the Coffee Shop for a lunch buffet prior to this. I called up 9th Mile and asked if they have a lunch buffet there as well. The guy on the phone said "Yes".
So with a rumbling stomach , we made our way to the restaurant. NO BUFFET, .. WTH!. A La Carte would have to do.
It seems like Royal Orchid hosts plenty of corporate events usually from the IT sector cause I noticed many young professionals sitting at the tables with their laptops and loitering around fiddling with ipads.
9th mile has a open gazebo like kitchen where you can see the cooks toiling away to prepare your food. (and some slackers)
The seating area itself is open sided with a rudimentary metal roof and coir ropes clumsily strung end to end.
The usual north indian fare of kebabs, curries, roti-yaan, and chawal meant we stuck to the basics. For the four of us, couple of starters, couple of mains and rotis. The steward told us the rotis were gigantic and we should start off with ONE each. Boy did he overestimate the size and underestimate the appetiites of 4 hungry guys.
Overall decent meal, standard fare, nothing I would write home about.
This is closest good restaurant from our home in bangalore but still gone only just one. Heard lots of good reviews so one sunday after a lot of persuasion, we went there and it came out as a decet place for day lunches. Why i am saying day as its open air so you may get insects, flies etc in night.
As the sitting is out so the view was nice and service also quick. We had starters, main course whch was well cooked and had sufficient quantity. Personally we did not like bhaigan ka bartha which we packed for home.
The only thing is that we found it to be a bit over priced. Also the desert menu is not very exciting and it takes time for them to serve it.
A lil far from the city, but quite a nice place to be. Not much choice of food, limited items, but whatever they have tastes good. The main highlight of this place is the outdoor setting, the decor was quite nicely done, with minimal use of lights. Food- Good Service- Good Ambiance- Good
I have been this place with family and friends . The place and ambiance is good , either you can eat in the enclosed area or in outer space , outer space eatery in garden is cheaper compared to inner space AC room ,
Price is worth not expensive
Live music is present on few day sin a week
Sunday there s a special buffet
Open garden space is present if you like to eat outdoors
live kitchen is present were you can see your dish getting prepared
Taste was ok not that great
and drinks are not that expensive
2 of us can have good food within 1000 Rs( with alcohol )
Indoor AC restaurant is bit expensive
And has only Buffet
In outdoor space there are lot of mosquitoes but usually coils are kept so dint have much problem ( so if you have very small kids its not good option )
Over all if you like to go for a long drive near Airport Road and need outdoor dinner and place with lot of personal space for yourself and very optimal price.
Finger licking punjabi food with an outstanding environment, 9th mile dhaba sure does give a good experience overall. The restaurant is designed to look like a dhaba and it is a semi open air setting. Both vegetarian and non vegetarian specialties are available. The service is courteous, attentive and polite.
The mango lichee mock tail was soothingly delicious and it was followed by starters like Mongewali Kukkad which is boneless chicken cubes with vegetables and seekampuri kababs, both which we enjoyed thoroughly. The vegetarian starters are equally satisfying too but being biased towards meat is a well-known trait of mine. The dal makhni will score a perfect ten, I tend to judge a north Indian restuarant by their Dal makhani and this place lived up to the taste which I expect. The Biryani here is cooked in clay pots and dum biryanis are supposed to cooked like that and in the end it turned out to be well-prepared, well-seasoned and yummy but the raitha which came along could have tasted better. However, Murg Reshmi Dumpukth (Tandoor roasted boneless chicken) was an instant favorite and I would beyond doubt order it again the next time. The rasmalai in the end did pave way for a memorable evening.
The only downfall is that this place is too far and little outside of the commercial part of the town.
Facilities like valet parking, take away and alcohol/bar are available. All major credit cards are accepted here. A meal for two would cost around 1000 for two without drinks.
