User Reviews for Peacock
Though I frequent the Indiranagar restaurants quite a lot, I somehow had missed this one located near the CMH road junction. Last afternoon, myself and a set of my office colleagues dropped in this restaurant for lunch. We decided to go for the buffet served here.
After arriving at the place, we had some papdi chat and tidbits that were served at the table. All of them were quite tasty. Then the starters arrived, including chicken tangdi kebab, mutton seekh kebab fish kebab and aloo tikka kebab. All the kebabs were delicious and done with perfection, and the fish kebab had amazing flavors and particularly stood out among them. The veg paneer kebab also tasted quite nice.
In the mains, the spread was quite large, with 3 salads, 3 veg and 4 non veg items. The dal makhni and the paneer dish tasted OK, nothing outstanding. The Biriyani also was just OK, not good enough to compare against the ones served at the more renowned Biriyani places in the city. The "Murgh lababdar" and the Fish curry, however did not disappoint, and went quite well with the fresh roti and the naans that were served at the table.
Next we tried out the deserts , and it was a memorable experience. There were almost 10 varieties of pastries, mousse and icecream available, and almost all were extremely good. The caramel custard and the coconut crunchies topped with chocolate deserve special mention. Indian delicacies also made their presence felt with some good quality jalebis.
The ambience was quite nice and cosy. The service was reasonably good.
The price tag, Rs 685 plus tax for a non-veg buffet lunch, is a bit too high. But considering the location, we can assume that prices would be a bit on the higher side here.
Here are my ratings :
Ambience : 4/5
Service : 3.5/5
Food : 3.5/5
VFM : 3/5
Overall : 3.5/5
I would definitely recommend the lunch buffet based on the great starters and the desserts they serve, and it would be good if the main course dishes were a bit better.
Last friday after searching a lot I decided that I will visit a place where I haven't been till now, so finally picked The Peacock, the location of the place is 100Ft road which already has some of the best restaurants in Bangalore, so I was hoping somehow it will match my quench of a nice dinner.
We entered in the the buidling, on the ground floor they have cafe(Crème and crust) which gives a European look, but peacock is on first floor, the moment i entered i liked the ambiance, not great but good enough, but then starts all the let down.
The tables allotted were not clean, but waiter were trying to provide good service they were all over us in listening and letting us know all options available in menu, finally we went for dinner buffet, 1 veg, 1 non-veg which cost you around 1400Rs, thus we were expecting a good amount of satisfaction.
They served the started at table itself but everything was just ok or I will say the more we were having the worse it was getting. Finally after having 1 shot of all available starters we went for buffet, buffet menu was not varied enough and the most disappointing thing overall was the taste and it is not one item on the menu, everything when it comes to taste was not good at all.
I don't want to exaggerate but me and my roomie we with came health and smiling for dinner but after half an hr or 45 mins our faces were full of disappointment and even stomach started filling uneasy.
I don't want to go into the dishes names as almost everything was a let down. I will say they need to improve a lot to match the price tag they have put for this buffet. While sitting there we decided the more we will stay there the worse its gonna be so we left almost half empty itself.
I will say if you stay in or near by indiaranagar you can easily avoid this place, for me I will never look at this side of 100 ft road :) :).
So except the ambiance my ratings are gonna be poor.
Service: 2.5 (Waiters were trying their best, but first they don't match the standard of a classy restaurant, 2nd food just ruins everything here).

Did not visit this restaurant because of the stupid behavior of the manager, i asked him what are the items for buffet, he says "he does not know", i said it would be easy to convince my friends to come to "Peacock" if we know what chicken starters they are serving since we only love chicken startes , his bizarre response was " i don't eat non veg so i don't know whats in the menu, that's ok don't come, i can't tell you what are the items we are serving".
I was just shocked, from the where the hell did these restaurant people got the manager from. He himself called me since i had inquired through Just Dial
Manager Name : Sharma
We went for a treat and booked for dinner buffet. Dinner buffet costs around 800 rs
Ambiance is fine.
Taste of the food is not worth at all for the cost of the buffet. It should be 300 rs buffet at max.
Service was too bad. Just to serve water we should wait for 10 to 15 minutes and trust me it was not even crowded to give an excuse to them hoping they are tied up.
Buffet food was cold, not even warm.
We were not happy with their service and the food. Great disappointment.
I would not like to recommend this place to my friends. By this cost i would say you guys get really yummier two buffets to enjoy.
A perfect place for indian , continental and oriental food lovers !
Plush blue velevets resembling the peacock feather colours and crystals adorn the restura ,giving it a rich look and feel .
Food is delicious and is sure to satiate the meat-eating tastebuds !! :) My husband and I were ushered in very warmly by the maître d’ which was soon followed by placing the orders. We chose Chicken and Nalli ka Shorba and Banno Kebabs as starters .Banno Kebabs are chunks of chiken kebabs wrapped in egg fritters and tasted heavenly. For main course we stuk to Butter Naan and Dhaniya chicken which were pretty delicious too. By the end of Main Couse , we were very stuffed and couldn't dare a sweet dish but the maître d’ ensured we did not leave the place without trying at least sumthing from the menu which he insisted was Complimentary ,so after much "bargain" we settled for 1 Gulab Jamun for both of us !! I have NEVER tasted such gulab jamun in my life , it jus melts in the mouth ,so soft and spongy ,just perfect !!
The dinner experience was extremely feel-good and the tastes lingered on for longer than usual !!We enjoyed every minute of our dinner here . Our total was a decent 1.3k inclusive tax.
Must visit for all foodies !!!! :) :) Wil definitely recommend to those who love heavy Indian meals .
