User Reviews for Hotel Suprabhat
It used to be great but now would probably be just good enough..
one of the most well known in the Habsiguda area and one of the oldest, time has kind of caught up with this joint. it was well known for its tiffins but as they grew older, they dint grow wiser!
The food quality is still ok but it used to be great in its hay days. the visits reduced a lot but i would still prefer it over any other joint for a quick tiffin in Habshiguda area!
Hotel Suprabhat is the most popular restaurant in Habsiguda and also the oldest. It attracts huge crowds.. They started as a family restaurant on the main road. It was better known for its Tiffins and south Indian snacks. But now they made separate places for both Tiffins and restaurant section.
It is a family restaurant, so obviously one can expect huge crowds on week ends and week days also....it is very difficult to find a seat here and we have to wait for at least 10 minutes to be seated.
The restaurant serves several north Indian and Chinese delicacies. Though not an ideal place for Chinese foods, it is not a bad place if you suddenly feel like having it. I have tried Hot garlic friend rice along with baby corn Manchurian...which is quiet good and far better from any of those food joints out side who claims the specialists.
Coming to North Indian, Kulchas are as good as in any decent Punjabi restaurant. The Thalis are major crowd pullers. There is variety in the offerings and the food is delicious, hunger satisfying. The order is most often delayed when the hotel is full. The staff turns grumpy if you become too inquisitive about a dish and on a hot summer day, the air conditioning can prove inadequate.
There are neither designer wood works nor any furnishings. There are simply tables and chairs, with couches that run along the wall for a group of visitors. Its simple and decent.
value for money-5/5.
Grew up in habsiguda area and visited suprabath many a times but all i could say is my age started increasing and their quality started declining. When compared to 10 years back the quality deteriorated like anything. Especially with the tiffin section its un hygenic, tasteless and i started avoiding it since many months. Coming to the al-a-carte its o.k o.k. nothing noteworthy.
But the buffet here is worth mentioning.
Its very cheap when you look at the huge varieties they spread before you. they started with fruit punch, hot and sour soup perfectly peppered. The spring rolls were good. The manchuria was o.k o.k. The padi chat was good. The paneer was fresh and cooked spicely. the naans were crisp. biryani was simply cooked with less masala and its refreshing and there are many other dishes as well. All the south indian varieties like sambhar and bhendi fry were all good.... The only disappointment was the strawberry flavoured ice cream (but that's just because of my personal taste buds which don't like the strawberry taste :P ).
Overall good experience with the buffet.
Avoid the tiifin section and don't get false impressions by looking at all the people waiting at the bill counter. There is nothing neat or hygenic about the tiffin place.
Been here after a lot of good reviews from friend. Ambiance was decent.
Only starters and Naan items were good. All the main course items made of rice really tasted bad. Poor service too. Every time we had to request for water. Also most of the items were not refilled in the buffet bowls until requested. Not going to visit again.
Being a regular to this place have already reviewed it and have enjoyed their quality and quantity.. :)
Below review is just to speak up on their Service and Hospitality, faced this time.
After a small wait we were directed to a table - full of glasses and jugs on it. On asking to atleast remove them the waiter removed the jugs. My next words were - " We ain't gona use those many glasses please remove them too". And so 5 of those glasses were placed for us with 4 on the next table and rest were removed. The table still was watery and so I again have to ask for clean-up and change of table mats as they were dirty too. Arrrgghhh...
Next, we ordered Masala Papad, Veg Kofta, Navratan Korma, Dal Makhani accompanied by Naans and Paneer fried rice in the end. The service came quite fast.
But ,as it was bit late, to mention some words of captain said to people on the table next to us - " Sir jitna order dena hai ek baar mein de do, 3:30 k baad main apko ek dana bhi nahi dunga.....!! " O_o
Dude..he is your customer, be polite to him..!! :@
The food arrived, which tasted well as before. ..the only good thing this visit. :)
Next for the bill too we waited looooong, and finally ended up at the counter to pay it. God knows what so many captains and 'servers' were busy with. On asking for manager, the excuses started coming in. O_o
Advice: The Restau should really work on teaching etiquette to the staff. This kinda behavior is really not appreciated.
P.S. This rating is for this visit. :|
