User Reviews for Amadeus
Its a decent fine dining restaurant - the interiors are great as is the location - our very own NCPA campus. The place might be slightly expensive for a few. The hot and vegetarian tapas are good, the caramelised yogurt and leek soup was done well, I also did a toss your own pasta and that tasted yum. Ended the meal with mocktails and a dessert which was too soggy (tiramisu) - should have ordered a different one. Only recommend this to people who can afford a 5k++ amount to spend on a meal or who are attending free gigs happening here.
I had heard rave reviews of Amadeus for a while both as an eatery and a lounge and finally on Mother's Day decided to go there. I am a Vegetarian who is allergic to eggs but my family eats eggs and meat. We decided to do away with the Paellas or the Spanish Pizzas that were offered and instead ordered just the Tapas. Would loveeee to go back there
a) Filo Pastry with a Spinach Mushroom and Brie stuffing which was laced with a balsamic reduction. The pastry was flaky and the stuffing was delicate yet woodsy.
b) Chicken Skewer with Harrissa-I was told the chicken was tender and sauce to die for
c)Mushroom caps with a soft creamy goat cheese filling and topped with toasted pine nuts. I think if you look up the definition of heaven in a bite this picture comes up. My only suggestion to them would be to add chopped chives to it-but that is just because I am not happy with even perfection
d) Mezze Platter which had hummus with caramelized onions,a creamy Tsasiki with zatar and a warm Aubergine dip similar to a concoction I have had in Morocco but with a far too Desi flavor. The pita bread was too soft and didn't hold the dip well
e) Strawberry Margherita was yummy drink but apparently the kiwi one is v popular
Located in the POSH area of Nariman point inside the NCPA campus, I went for the 1st time here and was captivated with the pics of the Legends in MUSIC. Zakhir hussain, Mozzart and others don the walls making it Unique !
The Food here is outright Expensive and i was able to visit it with my Dad and 2 of his clients from overseas. The food is very very Authentic Spanish to the core and I couldnt make head or tail with the names on the menu.
Finally i dint want to mess on this Rare visit by ordering something that doesn't suit my palate so completely surrendered to the waiters suggestion and also to my dads clients recommendations.
Since he knew spanish cuisine i learnt that tapas means snacks or appetizers. We ordered a few of them- a lavish turkish platter comprising of lamb, fish and chicken. This was very different than the usual indian nonveg kebab platter and I enjoyed every bit of it. The 2nd one was the cod fish starter which was Ok as it was pretty bland for me. Then we had pinchos which were grilled items and we had the chicken pinchos that came with spicy harissa sauce - Tasted good.
In mains we had a Valencia Paella (rice dish like biryani or pulao). This was a huge dish with plethora of meats like spanish spicy sausages called chorizo, chicken, mussels, prawns, squid, and even Lobster !. This particular dish was extremely Lavish and enough for 3 good eaters. We also had one wonderful lamb dish served with some chilly avacado paste.
Lastly Desserts were a poached pear strudel and mango confetti spiked with tequilla. mago dessert was better than the pear one.
The Damages with all these exotic dishes and taxes came to a WHOPPING close to 17000 with taxes ! I just couldnt believe that I actually had such a EXPENSIVE Meal !!
Well firstly Amadeus, is a FK product....so our reviews don't matter!!
He's the king-pin of restaurant scene in Mumbai!!
Must mention "Joss"....one of the best food I have ever laid my hands on!!
I still remember some portion of "Lamb" that I had eaten here....oh my god!!
They also have a private party den which can easily accommodate 70-80 people....just in case!!
Nice attractive bar and an assortment of cocktails and brews..
Ambiance...Best of the lot!!
Again: high voltage on the pocket!! But well worth it!!
Cheers to FK!!
Overpriced good food. We had a range of tapas. Lamb, sea food, veg and meats. When we asked for the portobello, they said it was out of stock and then had the audacity to ask if 'button mushroom' would 'do'!
Furthermore, iced tea - ultra sour! Twice. To be fair, they didn't add it to the bill in the end after I had rejected it. Prices are outrageous for food that is fairly good and not awesome.
It truly is a waste of one of the finest places in Bombay and the service is quite appalling.
