Been there for a weekend get together. I like the way they have maintained the old Mill Warehouse layout, gives it an old world charm. The bar cum billing counter takes center stage specially if you are seated on the mezzanine level.
The food is awesome, I would rate the mushroom starters and the cheesy sauce served with calamari as the best I have had in India so far. The music is great, goes well with the ambiance and the lighting.
The cocktails need to improve in terms of taste, presentation is fine. I took a sangria which tasted like cough syrup!
A small corner could double up as a dance floor....this place needs one.
Overall a must visit place to hang out with your friends on special occasions.
A late office lunch at Cafe Zoe, love the look of the place , airy, bright, that just reels you in. Love the stance and the explanation on Kids, appreciate their honesty and agree with it totally ( I do have 2 kids of my own too) . Very efficient service, am amazed at how quickly the food arrived at the table.Great greek salad in a jar, where u add as much dressing as you like, crostinis came fast enough, to alleviate the hunger pangs. Our main course looked multi-coloured, with Red- beetroot risotto, Green prawn cappelini, White John dory & Brown pork saltimbocca. Highlight was, the dory, cooked perfectly, crispy skin and falling apart fillet. The cappelini sauce was great, we needed more punch & seasoning in the risotto & saltimbocca, but overall a good light fresh and healthy meal. Do not leave without tasting the apple strudel, crispy pastry & melting apple filling, absolutely a great end to a meal well worth having ...
Located at Mathurasas Mill Compound, it's really easy to miss this one on your way to Lower Parel. The restaurant is located quite further and one needs to be braced for a walk. The entrance is a bit confusing as you wonder which way would the door open.
Once you enter too recognize what could once have been a mill, keeping the same structure long it appear rustic as well as avant garde due to its ambience and the people it caters to.
I went it for the spiced guava drink, supposedly a chiller but it seemed as though I took the spicy part for granted and quite shocked when my tongue burnt. The broccoli risotto with melted cheese was strictly ok and a tad boring if not consumed piping hot.
The best part was the dessert, Bailey cheese cake, which was the best thing i could order. It wasn't too sweet and just the right texture and melt in the mouth taste which makes me gave this place a 3.5 instead of 3.
I wouldn't mind visiting again though in company of friends to sample out more dishes.
Great place, one is reminded of very chilled out cafés from around the world as soon as you enter here. Was here for dinner and was surprised to see such a contemporary European/ American menu. Had the salmon Wellington was made to perfection and a beer root carpaccio absolutely divine. I am going to be back soon for more. A great addition to the dining scene in Mumbai
This place surely opened with a bang and created a huge noise. The fun pub like scene, with music, great interiors and free wi-fi do give it a çool' image. Its definitely something that everyone in Bombay is talking about. However, I would have liked it more if the food menu wasn't a rip off of another restaurant.
