User Reviews for Global Fusion
Have been to this joint thrice now and each time it seems it has been slipping. It’s a better place to eat for Non veggie as the spread is bigger. Also , frankly its not really global and I would say that its mostly pan Asian kind of cuisine . To list down what you would get :- Amazing variety of Sushi completely with kikoman soy & wasabi paste;great variety of Chinese authentic starters ; good variety of indian starters .However there isn’t any continental or Italian cuisine here and you wont be getting an pizza/pasta/burger/sizzler/Au gratin or baked stuff here. Frankly it thus makes the word Global fusion sounds a misnomer. But for me the biggest let down was the main course. Just a few score feet away from this place the barbeque nation serves a better main course by a long margin. Also the main course in Global fusion is largely Indian with a few stirred fried veggies or thai curry thrown in – again very limiting Asian fare.I also found the paneer dishes and the dal to be very very ordinary- frankly it seemed that they had almost put the main course as an afterthought. Iced tea & soft drinks and some soups are a part of the overall buffet menu. The desserts are strictly ok and are not really what you would jump out for. The biggest draw of the place is the lovely ambience and the huge 20 off feet aquarium on the side . For around 900 bucks ( taxes inclusive) on a weekend night I reall would visit it may not more than once a year
This place has amazing variety. That is if you're a non vegetarian. As soon as one enters there's this amazing ambience one just wants to get lost in. The staff is very attentive. Now I shall get to the food. The starters. Wow. Blew my mind. Cheese prawns. Prawns in pepper sauce. The fish was flakey and cooked to perfection. The prawns tempura was okay. In veg starters there was basically potato and a few other regular starters. Compared to global grill and barbecue nation this place has much more variety. It doesn't have the classic grill placed in the centre of the table. The starters are served in plates and like the above mentioned places they are also unlimited. Though compared to global grill one gets a complimentary drink here which is also unlimited. The main course is sushi as well as other normal items. Nothing great. It's not a global fusion of cuisines. It's the fusion of Japanese and Indian cuisines. I suggest stuffing up on the starters and skipping the main course. The desserts were above average though I've seen better at global grill. The unique thing is they have Baskin Robbins ice cream. The cost came up to 5800 or a little more for 10 people. You do the math :P I would recommend barbecue nation for those who want food as well as the complimentary drink. Or I would recommend Sigree global grill for those who would just love to hog. I don't mean to bring down this place. I believe taste and reviews are subjective. It's worth a try but not worth the money especially for vegetarians.
Value for money: 6/10(subjective)
From the day the Global Fusion has opened an outlet near my house in Sakinaka, I was contemplating to visit the place. Then it was my birthday and my husband took me to this place for Birthday Dinner.
We had a prior booking so our waiting time was nil. But looking at the waiting area I can suggest that going without booking can make you well till late. The entrance is nicely done on an aquarium. And we entered. And wow... what an enormous place it is!!! It can accommodate I believe more than 100 people and still it is full in spite of the fact that it was a Tuesday.
Anyway, As soon as we had a seat, the waiter came asking for the complimentary drink and explained the process of ordering food.
But we thought that we should have a look at the laid out spread ourselves. First it was sushi counter and there was Sushi’s of almost all variety among them chicken, prawn, Tuna, turkey to name a few apart from veg.
Then there are two separate counters one for dimsum of different variety and the other is for various kebabs. The procedure is one can order there and the attendant shall deliver the food in the table. Also there are regular sauces, coated and deep fried prawn (a must try), Fried chicken, fried smashed potato and so on…
Before we were done with the starters, there is hardly any place for the main course.
But not to forget, the main course also has variety and includes Crab, prawn, chicken, mutton also.
Desserts though do not have variety, they offer ice-cream from Baskin & Robbins.
It is strongly recommended for those people who loves their food and have some time in hand to hog on some Asian food. Though the name suggest Global Fusion, continental food lovers may get disappoint here.
Lastly, last week also I visited the place with my sister and her family and the spread was same. So, I guess the menu is constant.
It all started on a Sunday gaming session at my friend's house who lives in Sakinaka. From 10:30 to 12:30 we were all pumped up with the PS 3. Smackdown 13 is a lovely game. Then we got hungry and decided to go to Global Fusion. Since the lunch rates are kinda alright, 999 AI we didn't mind paying the amount and relish the Asian, Jap cuisine. This was my first visit at the Sakinaka Branch. It's lovely i tell you. We got a cozy seat and then began Make Total Destroy time.
We called for 2 complimentary Red Wine before we were all Usain Bolt on the sushi bar. So the sushi bar had amazing fresh spread. I totally love the Prawns Tepanyaki Maki and the Sashami Platter. Although I did a very cheesy attempt to OD on Ginger Sushi. So my plate was proudly yelling, SUSHI.. SPARTA...SUSHI.. HWOO HWOO!! I also loved the Chicken Salad, Chicken Sesame, Prawns Salad. Wasabi yeah!! Then my unsatisfied tummy insisted me to move to the Prawns Tempura section. Blessing is prawns, god is great. Lovely mouth watering prawns tempura's. I think i had like 8-9 of them. Sorry couldn't resist. The Prawns Wafers were nice. I then called for a round of Prawns Tepanyaki and Cheese Garlic Bread.
After all this, i asked my tummy that "hello son, are you ready? Can you feel it?" Then the main course. Since I had stuffed myself with so much starters and sushi, i had to cut down the options on the main course. I took Corn Fried Rice, some Garlic Prawns gravy and Chinese greens and stuffed my other plate with lots of Lettuce. I know, this is a lot of food but believe me, once you are there, NO ESCAPE. ONLY TEMPTATION!!
Finally, it ended with a fruit plate (watermelons, muskmelons and pineapple) and 2-3 chotu cakes. A cup of Jasmine Tea and the damage was on our table. 999 x 2 = Insane amount of Global Cuisine + 2 happy gamer friends.
I have been frequenting Global Fusion in Bandra for many years now and I have always enjoyed the food and ambience of the place.
When the Andheri East one opened a stone's throw away from the office, I never thought it would take me so much time till my first visit there.
My experience there in two words: Very Disappointed.
The quality of the food has dropped significantly. The pan-Asian variety is almost non-existent with Indian tandooriness having creeped into everything. The soup was below par. I have never had such a tomato soup before. The main course was very very ordinary without too much of a variety. Moreover the ice tea and even the Pepsi were highly diluted without any punch in them.
Desserts were probably the only saving grace.
I guess so long Global Fusion.
