User Reviews for WTF!
After a lot of contemplation we zeroed down on WTF! for a friend and my combined birthday treat. We were a large group; about 15-16 of us. We called for reservation but as luck had it they don't do reservations. Finally after insisting, the manager agreed but the catch here was - he asked at least someone to come in by 9pm and be at the table. Also they could only provide seating for 10-12 people max. We took a chance!
As I entered I was awestruck with the interiors. So funky and youth-screaming! The outer area with stone and gravel covered floor and funky tables was unique. Only glitch is, it gets hot during summers. We moved inside and noticed the place divided into two parts - the bar area and the booth area (both equally cozy). Every piece of furniture and artifact is unique and so funk-laden. Even the walls! We were seated at the bar area. It was a fancy stand-up bar with a couple of bar stools...I mean WoW!! The booth area was vibrant with red all over the place.
WTF! is mainly a hang out zone - have a couple of drinks, munch on some fancy chakhna and groove to the music. The menu has limited options. We practically ordered everything except the beef and pork options. Highly recommended are Veg - WTF! Fries, Chilli Cheese Toast, Jalapeno Poppers, Paneer Chilli. Frankly the Veg Platter is good enough. Non Veg - Tandoori Lollypop, Kebab platter, Fish Fingers. Avoid WTF! Prawns, they were too rubbery. In cocktails I'd recommend Long Island Iced Tea and Mandarin Mojito.
Service was good but a little slow. Considering the crowd and orders pouring in from everywhere, they did a good job. Not once did they mix up on the orders.
Total value for money I'd say. Its the best place if you want to catch up with friends for a drink without worrying too much about how much it'll hurt your pocket.
WTF is a lovely, lively place to kick back and have some fun, especially with a group. They have three sections - an open air sit out, bar and table-chair seating area and a booth style seating section. Can not decide which one is the best for all have their own sweet charm! Music is good on most days - both selection wise and volume wise. They also have a screen where they air matches.
The bar is stocked with the usual spirits, beers, wines and liquers. Nothing extraodinary really! Their cocktails are also quite ameteur. So stick to your beer or rum / whiskey with coke / soda variety. As for the food, they do have a very limited menu with only some appetizers but whatever they have is quite tasty. I suggest sampling the chicken kebabs, mini chicken burgers, spare ribs, spicy fries and veg quesadillas. Prices are reasonable.
Do go to WTF for a fun filled evening!
Finding a table after 9 pm anytime between Friday and Sunday is next to impossible, owing to the immense popularity of the place. The decor is interesting and eclectic, with a nice mix of sports-bar indoors and rustic outdoors. Arsenal fans have reason to cheer, because the walls are adorned with posters and memorabilia of the team.
The food is really good, and the Kerala Beef, WTF Fries, and Crispy Chilli Vegetables are must-tries. The choice of alcohol is also fairly good, though the beers could be served a lot colder than they are.
A word of warning - if you're planning a post-work drinks-and-snacks, the place is great. But as the evening wears on, the music gets progressively louder and more annoying (Bryan Adams, Enrique Iglesias and Hoobastank are standards). All in all, though, it's a great place for a night out on the town, especially if you're in a large group.
What should I say, it's my only adda in Mumbai! I've been in Mumbai since my childhood and trust me, this is the most happening place to chill out. I come here almost every time when I'm out with my friends. The food, the cocktails and the ambience, all are absolutely amazing! If you are in Mumbai, then you have to visit this place and I am sure that you will thank me later!
A fairly large space which is a boon if you go in a group. The inside section has karaoke on select days.
We were a large group and went just for drinks. Ordered Mojito and rum and coke pitchers. The Mojito was very watered down while the rum and coke was very strong. Can be a great place to hang out if they can get their drinks in order.
