User Reviews for Haldiram's
Posting my fast experience of food with Haldiram.
I will not recommend anyone to try their fast menu during navaratra. The special thali no where resemble a fast food. The thali is loaded with Paneer and Dum aaloo, with plenty of extra oil. Every bite make you feel as if your fast is violated. The smell of oil exploits the taste. The food is loaded with spices, masalas unlike fast food which should be light and contains less of everything which they had added in plenty. The samkias were also pathetic and again loaded with tonnes of oil. Only authentic thing in the entire thali was the fast roti. They should stop saying that they serve food meant for people who are fasting.
The 3 stars are only for the reason that during normal days my experience was not that bad.
my family's favoutire spot to eat is haldirams so I hav visited olmst ol of them but the quality is not same at every where but here u can expect to be very delicious food but the restaurant is not spacious its olwys very crowded but the quality of food is awesome.

Was on a short visit to delhi & when it comes to hygeinic chaat this is the place to be! We had their Mattar Kulche which was tasty and the kulcha had never tasted so soft and yummy before! We also had the pani puri or gol gappe as they call it and the water tasted fresh and perfect! We also had raj kacchori (superb) and imarti which was crisp and exactly the way i liked it! Had a great experience & well its quite reasonably priced too!
Haldiram's; a place which my family usually recommend for dine out. One thing is for sure, the quality that Haldiram's has been able to maintain for past so many years and across so many outlets is simply amazing.
Raj Kachori, Lachha Tokri, Gol Gappe are must haves for street food.
Cholle Bhature, Pav Bhaji are another speciality of Haldiram's.
The area that Haldiram's hire is simply amazing as it offers a good experience if you are planning to dine in over there. The only issue with Haldiram's is that they are little on the expensive side.
Haldiram's is the first place which comes to your mind when you think of chat or should I say hygienic form of street food. Its the favorite place for all age groups be it you nani or little cousins. Over the year this place have become more commercial and have lost its real charm. The food here is overpriced and not very extraordinary. You only come back here for your old-time favorites.
The lajpat nagar outlet is the one which I have visited the most and since its on the main road its convenient. The place strictly follows the rule of hygiene. The people serving are always in gloves. The place has two floors. Ground floor is the busiest with various counter on all three sides. There are long queues from where you get the order slip and then again few minutes waiting at the respective counters.
I hardly come in and eat because I want to sit and enjoy my meal which they dont offer. I prefer a take-away as the place is always crowded and very noisy. Plus self service here is a big turn off as the place is already full of people.
My all time favorite order is the pao bhaji, raj kachori, plain dhokla and khandavi. For desserts i just love ras malai. These are the only 5 things which makes me come back to this place. Also, jalebi which unfortunately this particular outlet does not serve (I go to haldirams - mathura road for that). I only enjoy a proper meal here if its navratras and I am fasting.
The quality of the food is consistent over the years. The variety of sweets they offer is unbeatable. The namkeen - aloo bhujia, punjabi lacha, khata meeta are my favorite!! I send good numbers of these to my cousins in Australia, as they are their all time favorite mid night snacks.
Its a heaven for strict vegetarians. I personally dont relish this place any more, but when you have your family or friends visiting from abroad and dont want to get sick while they want to enjoy the street food I get them here.
