User Reviews for Mamagoto
Long story short for people.
Foos is really good, if you order the right things. The service is really slow. And the ambience looks good, but needs more lighting.
Highly recommend the honey chicken with bell peppers, chicken with star aniseed and crispy spinach, and vegetables in black bean sauce.
Virgin mojito is really good!
The only negative aspect is they dont have table mats, they dont change your plate after your starters and soup have finished, which personally I'm used to.
Service needs to be more on thier toes.
Short and crisp menu, specialising in a few things. Good, decent visit. Would like to visit again? Yes, if i am a little short on options.
I have been to Mamagoto at Khan and it was nice.
The laksa is to die for-not to be missed while eating here!
I ordered Gauvagoto drink and personally I felt it was a little strong as a cocktail.
water chestnut spring rolls are good, both veg and chicken basil cups are good
sticky rice is something one doesnt get everywhere and thus one must try it -tofu sticky rice was what we tried and it was different
We had ordered a veg dish with the rice, even that was good-cant recall it, it was in black sauce
banofee pie is yum
Lil expensive but i loved the food!
We visited Mamagoto for dinner this Monday and selected a table in the terrace section.
For drinks we chose a kiwi cooler and a virgin mojito which were both very well made. We skipped the starters and ordered main course directly. The veg phad thai noodles were good, though I would have preferred a more generous garnishing of bean spouts and shallots. The husband tried sticky rice with chicken which though generous in portion, was average in taste. Since a couple of our neighbours started smoking, we decided to skip dessert and leave. The meal set us back by about 1.5k. There's much more to try on their menu, so we'll visit again soon.
I don't know why I have delayed writing a review for Mamagoto. Well, if I had to pick one cuisine of all to eat for the rest of my life it would be Asian, hands down!
It is quite difficult for one to find a good Asian restaurants in Delhi which don't quite serve Indo-Asian food. Mamagoto is one such restaurant that serves something very close to authentic pan Asian food. The ambiance is beautiful, brightly lit and colourful but my favourite is the rooftop. They could light up the rooftop area a little more though.
Now coming to the food, I don't particularly remember not liking anything from there except their version of Nasi Goreng (Mamagoto Goreng), I have had much better Nasi Goreng at other places. Apart from that most of their other dishes are just perfect. My personal favourites are Teriyaki Meal in a Bowl. Oh the flavours that one can relish with each bite is nothing short of excellent. The lamb was succulent and well marinated. Now my other favourite is Streert Vendor's Panang Curry Bowl. The quantity is good enough for two people, curry has mild yet powerful flavours and the amount of prawns in it is also quite a bit so this dish is a win win for me being a lover of peanuts and Prawns. The other dishes that I really like are Hunan Grilled Fish and Lamb Chops. Thankfully everytime I have had the grilled fish they have gotten it exactly right because grilled fish can really be a challenge to get right. If you are big on spices the lamb chops are just the perfect thing for you.
How can one miss the best part of a meal - Desserts!! Mocha Cheese Cake and Caramel Sponge Cake with Toffee Sauce are the hands down winners! Though I am not much of sweet tooth person but a good sponge cake and cheese cake juat melts my heart and these two desserts at Mamagoto are tge major attractions for me. Highly recommend the Caramel Sponge Cake, it definitely is a piece of heaven!
I have been a big fan of khan market owing to the great variety of restaurants food there. I have frequently visited mamagoto, but over the last few visits, I have noted the quality and taste to go down.
Although their prices are on the higher side, the big portion sizes kind of do some justice. I enjoy their mojito and their kaffir lime cranberry mocktail. I tried the grilled prawns on udon noodles from their robata section- although quite expensive, it only is an appetizer but priced like a main dish. The flavour was good. I had the fried calamari which was also tasty. Ask them for a dip in case they don't provide one with the calamari. For main course I had the penang curry which was spicy but good in flavour. The staff seemed quite friendly and helpful.
