User Reviews for Sigree
We went there on a sunday. It was a bit crowded and had problem with the reservation. Although we reached within the reserved time, they couldn't arrange. The starters were good. Prawns specially. Main course and desserts were good! ambiance is really good. But starters are not served properly in the buffet. They kept us waiting for long. service is average.
This places speaks of Buffet, exquisite food options in a buffet.
With variety of food and excellent ambiance you will feel, you have landed on the heaven on earth.
The place starts with a huge parking and efficient staff to help you with your Valet parking. You enter in find yourself a place sit sit, as you might have to wait. This places always has a waiting and eaters don't finish up soon, for they have a lot to eat. You might want to get some nice snaps clicked with a Huge Pottery Pot (Designed in a harappan style) at the reception.
The restaurant is spread into two floors and offers atleast 12 - 15 dishes with rich three starters both vegetarian and non vegetarian. You might want to order alcohol too, just that it would add a lot to your budget. the food is expensive but offers enough unlike the more expensive alcohol. The best of all includes the desserts, usually has a variety of 10 to 12 dishes, which includes gulab jamuns, other sweets, pastries, fruits and Kheer/ rabdi.
The best thing about sigree is the excellent service where you will have the cook visiting you to prepare something more delicious than you already have on the buffet table.
Food - 4/5
Ambiance - 4/5
Service - 5/5
Before I write about the food, let me mention that when it comes to reservations, these people always try their best to accommodate you even after you go when the reservations are running full. I have had this experience twice and the customer service has always been good.
Went here last week for a dinner buffet (dear friends party!!) and the starters Menu was:
Mutton Seekh Kebab
Bhatti ke Aloo
Paneer Tikka Harimirch
Makai Mirch Takatin
All these were well done although the chicken was a bit undercooked but the surprise was the Barbecued Pineapple done in Mustard Oil. Simply loved it and thanks to the chef for making this preparation. We had the starters to our limit and there was hardly any room left in our tummies for the main course, so decided to be very choosy and couldn't take my eyes off the Samosa Chat, which really lived upto the expectations.
Looking at the main course, really wished hadn't gulped down so many starters as really wanted to try the Murgh Kalimirch.
The desserts were good with Shahi Tukda being the best of the lot but Gulab Jamuns were not done in the middle though.
Would really recommend the Cucumber and Curry Leaf Tang, nice drink to go with the starters.
All in all, a really good place to go with your close ones.
When i have to decide where to go out with my family for dinner i always prefer some good indian cuisine restaurant, and if it has buffet then thats pefect !!
After i heard many good reviews about this place i finally tried it by my choice this sunday after shopping or dinner.
Sigree the name itself unfold the authenticity of the food, and this expectations had already tingled my taste buds.
Well, i would first start with the ambiance, its simple and decent just like any other fine dine restaurant.
they had ala carte and buffet both,Over ala carte i chose buffet.
since it was a weekend service was little slow, need improvements on this.
As i am a vegetarian, i had veg buffet, starting with the starters on our table obviously they served paneer first, paneer was fresh and merinated in a spicy coat, perfect !
baby corn was nothing great. now the tandoori aloo had very strong flavour of mustard oil, which was to be very honest overpowring the taste, tandoori pineapple was tangy and spicy.
lets talk about the main course kadai sabji was a great blend of vegetables and i liked that lovely tangy curry the vegetables were dipped in.
i didnt try dhaniya aloo, but methi paneer masala could have been much better,
dal tadka and veg pulao's prepration was simple but simplicity can also steal the show.
the add ons were raita, sprout salad, and was going great with the meal, loved the mix aachar.
In desserts they served sawai kheer, kalakand, shahi tukda, cut fruits, gulab jamun and icecream, good variety but could have improve the taste of it.
i confess my love again for icecream and my indulgance was preferably high for those lovely scoops even when i was full :-)
in the end a feed back form was given to us, in which i mentioned about the overpowering taste of mustard oil.
they didnt understand it(my writing is not that bad though) a staff person personally came to me asked the details(a plus point), i explained him in detail and he also shown his interest to work on it the next time.
apart from the fact that sigree buffet is not so equivelant with the money we pay here i wont mind coming here again, and this time offcourse for their ala carte !! :-)
Lot of scope for improvement
The service concept is the same as Barbeque Nation but food quality is not even close.
The babycorn tasted typically like a home made no spice dish.
The Aachari potato could have had a bit more flavour of the aachar.
Chicken, mutton starters were ok.
I had a limited main course from which;
The Methi mutter malai seemed to be bland
The daal lasooni had excess turmeric, which ultimately had to go waste.
Felt like its taking them ages to prepare & present the bill. 10 minutes is a rather long time.
For the overall service I would rate Sigree s meagre 3 considering the above mentions points.
