User Reviews for Terttulia
Had been dying to go here ever since I had heard about this restaurant, finally got an opportunity to go & dine there with some colleagues. Located in a serene corner of Koregaon Park, Terttulia is great for that quiet get away from the hustle & bustle of the main road. Surrounded by well kept trees, one is immediately put at ease & prepares one's self for a casual dining experience. They have an outdoor seating which I am told is very popular & an indoor section; this is a mixture of dining tables, cabana style seating & high cocktail tables.
There is no host desk & one can just walk in & request a table, we decided to sit in the indoor section as it was a tad bit hot. What caught my eye in the indoor section was their wine display it was magnificent!!!
The menu is very similar to an all day dining deli & has a variety of dishes to choose from; our order was as follows:
BBQ Chicken Pizza: The crust was not good, it reminded me of a Khari (Puff pastry biscuit) biscuit, the BBQ sauce was non existent & the cheese was the local Amul grated cheese. The overall taste was horrible, the Pizza lacked substance & tasted more like a Chicken Coated with Tomato Ketchup Pizza.
Vietnamese Basa with Hollandaise & Grilled Vegetables: The Basa was cooked perfectly, however except on the crust it was completely bland, the hollandaise was grainy (indicating it was pre made & ready to split any moment), the grilled vegetables were also under seasoned.
Pork Ribs with Corn Meal: One of the better dishes in their menu, the Pork was tender & fell of the bone indicating they had cooked it properly, the corn meal was well seasoned & accompanied the pork ribs perfectly. No complaints on this one!
Chef Sanjay's Special Burger: This was a curried nightmare!!! One just tasted curry everywhere, it was overladen with Mayonnaise & was accompanied by a curried slaw!!! The patty itself was hard & dry (a good indicator that maybe no one orders it & its been sitting in the deep freezer for days...what a gut wrenching thought!!!). There is nothing special about this one!!! This is served with a side of country wedges which has no salt, I sincerely hope we did not appear to come off as people on a low sodium diet to them ?!?!?
Chicken Wrap: Good dish, great flavor, the egg coating along with the pesto & chicken worked very well to create a harmony on the palate.
Lamb Ragout with Buttered Spaghetti: Ahhh!!! The star of our main course!!! The lamb was succulent & tender, the jus or gravy was divine & the spaghetti was not only perfectly cooked but was a great accompaniment to the dish as each strand of it encapsulated the jus!!! Great dish a definite must try!!!
Gooey Chocolate Cake: EXCELLENT!!!! Moist & sinfully delicious!!! I swear if I had place in my stomach I would have ordered one more of this!!! P.S. They also have a dessert display, where one can go & choose their desserts from...great concept!!!
The food was better than average but where they need to improve upon is their service, the service is not efficient!!! We had 3 people come & take our order, we had to keep raising our hands to grab some one's attention, there was no manager or supervisor present on the floor, to hear our grievances. The kitchen also needs to work faster, it took them 25 minutes to bring out our Pizza (there was only one other table in the restaurant) & another 30 minutes for our main course!!! Very very slow, that is why a supervisor or manager is required!!! No one even asked us what our meal was nor did they give us a comment card at the end of the meal.
The only thing holding this place together is their location, I do not see any other reason why I would want to go there again!!!
A very nice and relaxed place but can get very crowded on weekends. One of the few places I have come across in pune which has a good breakfast menu. I had the egg Benedict with grilled chicken and it was really good. I like my coffee without sugar and they managed to make a very good cold coffee w/I sugar.
All in all value for money will surely return to try other items on their menu esp their gooey chocolate cake:).
I have previously written a negative review for Terttulia. Nishant, who looks after the restaurant replied to the review and promised to change my impression about it. First of all, I would like to commend Nishant for following up with me very patiently and politely. He stayed very well in touch and then I was really looking forward to my visit there.
So my cousin Kedar and buddy Puneet and I landed at Terttulia on Saturday night. A nice table had been reserved and Nishant and his team greeted us warmly. We were promptly seated and menus offered. Nishant himself took the order as per our preferences. He suggested the ham and cheese mini quiches and baby roast potatoes as appetizers. For drinks, we had two lime capiroisjka (do not spell check) and the watermelon capiroisjka. The lime capiroisjka was good, though it could've done with a little less ice. Nevertheless my cousin and friend enjoyed it. The watermelon capiroisjka though was outstanding. Extremely refreshing, with just the right amount of alcohol and nice bite-sized chunks of watermelon. I loved it as I have in the past.
Both my compadres loved the ham and cheese quiches. They found the quality of meat and cheese very good and according to them it was the right quantity. The baby roast potatoes were great too, though the roasting was not as even as it should have. The spice coating was very tangy and I liked this starter a lot. A bit more quantity though?
Chef Sanjeev himself helped us order the main courses. Puneet had the lamb with couscous in a paprika sauce, Kedar chose the spaghetti and lamb ragout while I opted for the 3 mushroom risotto. The spaghetti and lamb ragout was very good, with a watery sauce and lot of garlic to it. Kedar liked it. The paprika sauce in the couscous was the most STUNNING sauce I have eaten in recent times. Fantastic texture, outstanding flavour of paprika and creamy to the right level. It was superb superb superb. I would have gladly exchanged plates with Puneet but for the fact that I had a most delicious and creamy mushroom risotto. Well-cooked arborio rice with a very generous helping of cheese and 3 types of mushroom (portobello, button and one more). This was inspiring cooking at its best. After a very long time I managed to finish my risotto.
After such delicious main courses we had to eat some dessert and we had the mud cake and the crème brûlée cheesecake. The mud cake was fantastic and so was the cheesecake. Good portions too.
Nishant kept checking throughout the meal if we were happy and we really were. It felt wonderful to have him and his team look after us so well.
Progressively the quality of the music improved greatly and we loved it. The ambience inside still isn't as good as it is outside. But yes, we were comfortable.
Delicious food, excellent service and a very enjoyable and pleasant evening. This is a classic example of how a restaurant can completely overturn a previous negative experience into a very positive one.
A very big thanks to Nishant for inviting us over. I hope the owners of Terttulia are reading this.
went to terttulia for a Sunday breakfast. the ambience is relaxed and apt for a lazy Sunday outing. the outside seating is for not for u if you would like a non-smoking zone. the insides are well decorated and comfortable. the food we ordered initially mixed up and the manager tried to make up for it by offering complimentary mocktails. but when the food arrived, it made up for the delay and confusion. delicious eggs Florentine. even the bagels we ordered were yumm. the pricing is okayish but worth it. a must visit for the food.

We visited this place at around 7pm last Saturday . Surprisingly we saw at least 5-6 tables already occupied that early. The place has nice outdoor ambience and quite decent indoors as well ( It’s right on the street and hence for our preference it’s a little too noisy for the outdoor seating). We preferred indoors only for the noisy outdoors . While the seating is comfortable inside, the tables are little closer to each other ( there were some other minor observations of some ceiling leakage patches and shabbily covered spots with brown duct tape ). Inspite of all these minor things , I think the décor is pretty decent .
My wife ordered a Sweetlime Mint Martini and then a Fresh fruit Kiwi Mojito , both were pretty good and I gulped some Kingfisher beer (which could have been served a little more chilled )
So far so good .. However the rest of the experience would want us to rethink if we would like to revisit this place . The menu was okay ,could have been a little more elaborate and Service has certainly scope to improve .
We had gone quite early and were not too hungry – so we settled for a quick Karari Roti as a short eat with our drinks . The roti was crispy , however had salt and masalas sprinkled inconsistently making the roti too spicy or too salty in some bites and tasteless & bland in other bites. These are very basics , you can’t miss them. Later we ordered Mixed Green Salad with honey Mustard dressing , Herb Garlic Bread and then a Cajun Chicken Burger . The appearance of the Herb Garlic bread was not appealing , it was the regular sliced bread look , the Salad dressing was very heavy on Mustard . There appears some issue with proportions or flavor balance problem here . The worst dish was the Cajun Chicken burger , there was no sign of Cajun flavours/seasoning but more of a heavy black pepper flavor . The chicken was minced in a patty along with don’t know what all and tasted Yuck. I ate less than half and couldn’t force myself to finish it even though by then I was quite hungry.
Overall an experience I want to forget , hopefully a different set of dishes in the next visit might help change our impression about this place . But then again not getting the basics right with unbalanced flavors may give the same challenge with any other selection of dishes .
For the above food and experience we paid Rs2400
