This place is a sudden discovery. We were roaming around the city on a Sunday and most of the shops and restaurants were closed on that area. Suddenly we come across this place. But the place was a real jewel. All the dishes are made with absolute precision and the place have great hospitality. Do try this place if you're around. We tried fish and chips with mashed peas and an awesome poached salmon with white sauce. All the ingredients were very fresh and the... read more

There are some restaurants where my name is forever going to be on the waiting list. I've wanted to go to Tom Kerridge's Hand & Flowers for SO long but the thought of waiting a whole year for a table just seems insane. . Well what if I let you in on a little secret on how you can eat Tom Kerridge's food without any wait at all? ...

As always I am a very big fan of iguanas have been since my first meal with them over 3 years ago & I'm always happy with the food and the service there isn't anything but good to say. Definitely recommend going for what ever the occasion.
I had the lamb ensahlada was devine then the smoked chicken burrito for my lunch main.

Milton Keynes is a town located about 45 miles north west of London. It takes around 1.5 hours to drive from London or about 35 minutes by train. As I will be visiting this area periodically over the next few years (while my husband completes his Doctorate program at Cranfield University), I am using my time to discover a few local gems. Doing a little research, following my successful discovery of The Carrington Arms, I hit upon The Birch at Woburn. ...

Very nice find, tucked away in Woburn. A bit of a tardis as once you enter the clever use of an open plan kitchen combined with linking 4 different buildings and a conservatory together really does give quite a large restaurant. Friendly staff and very fresh, flavorful food was on offer. We enjoyed the sea bass and a steak but the pea soup of the day was a huge hit. The delicious chocolate dessert, nicely presented with spun chocolate, rounded off a lovely meal.... read more

Not bad. Portion of starters are bigger than we thought, especially for the mussels. The place got most of the Scottish cuisine covered.

Quite cheap if you try their set menu for lunch or dinner, just 15 pounds for 2 courses per person.

Yet it took quite a while to get us a table, so reserve before you go to avoid the wait!

After consuming what can only be described as my own bodyweight in food and drink over the Christmas period, a family pub lunch was probably the last thing I needed in the diary on the day after Boxing Day.  After reading about The Swan Inn in Chiddingfold however, my brother’s choice of eatery for the occasion, I soon changed my mind. ...

The final leg of my wonderful foodie birthday tour took me to the Hand & Flowers in Marlow, the only 2 starred ‘gastro-pub’ in the Michelin guide, and my first foray into dining above a 1 star level. I decided on the Hand and Flowers as my brother and sister-in-law had given me a £50 voucher for my 29th birthday and by the time I got round to making the reservation (March 2014) this was the first weekend that a dinner reservation was available. ...

I had been to Manoir aux Quat’Saisons once before for an amazing all-day cooking class, and at that time, apart from stuffing our faces with all the delicious food we prepared, we also toured their gardens and saw where they grow all of the herbs and vegetables used at the restaurant. I was excited to go back and finally try Raymond Blanc's food and it didn't disappoint! Their food is classic and so is the setting but service was perfect and the meal was very...

Although Chiquitos don't generally cater too well for vegans, I was impressed by how helpful our waitress was to accommodate special dietary requirements - she suggested substitutions to make dishes suitable. I went for a baked wrap, substituting feta for broccoli.

The food was good. Fresh and well seasoned. The wrap was larger than expected for the price.

Guacamole in particular was delicious, it had a nice kick of chilli.

A sumptuous dining room, a high-end hotel and some of the best service I’ve had all year was the setting for yet another of our out-of-London luxury escapes. The Restaurant at The Vineyard Hotel has an interesting and quite topsy-turvy history. The head chef here is Daniel Galmiche, who took over from John Campbell (now at The Woodspeen) back in 2010. At the time the restaurant held two Michelin stars but since John left, they of course lost both. It’s...

A restaurant with so much hype can easily disappoint, but in this case, it lived up to everything it had promised.  The food and service was exceptional.  As a coeliac, they catered for me perfectly with plenty of advice on the menu and options.  The service was friendly yet professional.  Towards the end it was a little lax but the restaurant was very busy. The beef was a stand out on the main menu, so to was the duck.  Desserts were rich and delectable but... read more
