Good, but watch out for MSG!. Their food is good overall, but you get what you pay for. The Pho has MSG in it, so avoid this place if you don't want brain fog or an MSG headache.
So unprofessional. Food was so so and the staff was so unprofessional attacking guests...I would never reccomend this restaurant to anyone ever

While Pho may be $1-2 more than some other places I used to frequent on Buford Hwy and suburbs, the broth and the meat is much tastier than those cheaper places. I liked that they have a choice of small, medium and large bowls. We were there on a Wednesday night and most tables were full. We didn't wait to be seated and our service was very good. The pork spring rolls with thin rice paper were also very delicious.

So Ba seriously needs to shut down their restaurant until they get the whole concept of running their business correctly and efficiently. We Literally waited for 10 mins just to get our water, 6 mins to get napkins, sauce, small plates ( that was dirty) and utensils. Then waited for another 10 mins and saw that the people who came in way after we did got their food first. I mean seriously? WTF SO BA?? So waited for another 4 mins and decided to leave. Which is a total waste of 30 mins !

Their pho is way too over priced just for a simple bowl of pho. They are ripping off the people of east atlanta and their regular customers bc it does not cost much to make pho, therefore, the price for a small pho for $8.00 is pretty ridiculous. Most medium pho cost $6-7 dollars alone.. douche bags.. SO BA, you would be more of an idiot if you didn't take the money that you make from over charging and invest it in properly training your incompetent employees.

Bun!. I'm going through a So ba obsessed phase. And mostly because of their pork bun.

Bun (I can never remember how to pronounce it) is just a rice noodle bowl with delicious pork and other veggies on it. It's comes with a mini egg role.

They also have some delicious pho.

And if I don't go in TOO starving, I usually come out with lunch for tomorrow.

It's delicious. great atmosphere. If you live around EAV, it's hard not to make this a regular dinner spot.

Haven't been in awhile & used to get fabulous service & good food. Last vist waited 20 mins for waiter, then the first 3 wines we ordered they didn't have. If course had the most expensive bottle. We saw confused runner delivering food to all the wring tables even though reataurant was only 1/3 full. Hope this was a random exp but thought we at least deserved an apology after being a semi-regular since it opened. No one seemed to notice or care.

Really good pho

Very good Vietnamese. This is a great little place in East Atlanta (and one of the best in the village). The food is excellent and reasonably priced. I especially like their "Bun" dishes (rice vermicelli). Service is fast and attentive.
The G Spot. I think I could describe the food in great detail and comment how good it is, but some reviewers here have the right idea. In a nutshell, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu-Ok...I'm not much of a tripe fan but that's just me. Our palettes and opinions are going to vary regardless of what "authentic" really means and what our tastes buds recognize as slurp-your-bowl-clean goodness. This place is both. Go try it for yourself and value each bite for the buck.

Try to forget about the idea of what "authentic" means based on your experience on Buford Highway or your teaching gig in Vietnam....the chef is Vietnamese I'm pretty sure of that.

A natural gathering spot for all walks of life. Recommended!

So Ba. Great Affordable Ethnic Food.. Great food, great location. I enjoy the environment at So Ba, and the service has been solid every time. I especially have enjoyed the fact that it is still BYOB. I love Vietnamese food, and So Ba, although a little bit different than your typical Viet places, offers great fare. Its differences are not necessarily negative attributes, and for the quality of food, price, and convenience of location, you cannot go wrong.
