Prasino's specialty is sustainable dining with options for any kind of eater: vegetarian, vegan, locavore, gluten-free... they do it all. We just like to go for the stylish atmosphere and the simply tasty food. The menu is diverse with everything from sushi to flatbreads to short ribs. Shockingly, Alex and I don't eat sushi but we both love the rolls here. At one time they had a BBQ roll that was delicious. This time around we tried a lava roll that was equally good. Some other meal highlights for us: the lobster avocado appetizer-- lobster meat and mango salsa served in half an avocado, cauliflower gratin-- a side dish that was almost more souffle than gratin and delicious, and a delicious molten chocolate cake served with white coffee gelato. I have also heard Prasino does an amazing brunch. I'm hoping to make it there this summer for brunch on their fabulous patio!

Although the atmosphere was bright, the prices weren't absorbent (Brandy paid around $40 with tax and tip included), the philosophy noble, and the food plenty tasty, it was the friendly and efficient service that really set Prasino apart in Brandy's eyes. The mere fact that her waitress had actually come back to the table to inquire conversationally (as opposed to a forced professional politeness) about Brandy's liking of the cocktail spoke volumes about the level of care put into the restaurant and turned it from a stop on the trendy foodie's to-do list to a place Brandy would love to visit over and over again. If anything, Prasino shows that a restaurant can be consciously minded without having to sacrifice anything in price, taste, quality, or service.

This past Sunday I met up with the BF and our mutual friends/couple, Sara and Charlie at Wicker Park's Prasino. I had always wondered about the gorgeous restaurant and heard they served a mean brunch. We arrived at noon to a packed house with a waiting area that was flooded with hungry and hungover patrons. The restaurant itself is bright, airy and neutral in color, which, to me, conveys their goal of serving only local and sustainable fare. We were seated among tables of families, couples and ladies who brunch--it was truly a mixed crowd. I had snuck a peak at the brunch menu before arriving and was excited by all of the different entree options that sounded absolutely delicious. How was I supposed to choose just one? Breakfast Menu The brunch menu at Prasino also features quite a few cocktails including bloody mary's and sparkling drinks. However, we all opted for the bottomless coffee, which, might I add, was just ok.

Prasino has a very interesting feel with a trendy decor and plenty of sunlight. They've got a menu full of all natural items that scream fresh and local. I thought both of my dishes were slightly above average but had fundamental flaws with flavor balance. I'm giving them 3 out of 5 Pearls.

I enjoyed a leisurely Sunday brunch here with my friends Irina and Mohan a couple of weekends ago. The place is HUGE. It’s a pretty space, but the type of space I expect to be all scuffed-up and worn looking within the year. Is that bad of me? Yes. But seriously…how will they afford the upkeep? I had the roasted turkey club with turkey, bacon, swiss, arugula, tomato, avocado, and Parmesan aioli on a pretzel croissant. It was fine.

Prasino is exactly what Division street was lacking in Wicker Park. It's a perfect fit with a "green" (prasino is green in greek) focused menu and philosophy as well as highlighting vegan, vegetarian and even gluten free options.
