Old Hollywood. We recently visited Restaurant Marmont for some drinks and appetizers before heading out for the evening. First, the hotel itself is unique and historic - there really isn't anything like it. Upon arriving we sat inside the restaurant and had a couple drinks. Service was friendly and very attentive and we enjoyed our champagne as well as the waiters drink recommendations (+Moscow Mule!). Later we moved out into the garden where we once again had delightful service from our server who was attentive and once again offered some excellent recommendations. Our favorite appetizers were the Calamari which was light and delicious with it's two dipping sauces as well as the special which was Risotto Balls. I don't know how to describe them adequately but suffice to say they were some of the most delicious appetizers I've ever had. With great food and service, the garden atmosphere was also really amazing. Some complain that the offerings are too pricey, but in reality the mixed drinks were strong and a good value compared to steakhouse drink prices while the food was moderately priced. Mixed drinks were $13-15 and the appetizers were $10-15 each. We found great value for the money and will defintely be back to enjoy a full meal in the garden.
