Was in little Tokyo and wanted to give it a go. Coming from Vancouver, I wanted to give this place a go. My cousin have told me about this place and I wanted to compare it to Vancouver ramen. It is a large ramen shop.Busy... I found that the ramen itself was great, but it was on the salty side for the broth. The prices is comparable to Vancouver.

Ramen was delicious - you can really taste the pork flavor infused into the soup. They have big servings so don't get the combination of ramen and rice unless you're sharing with someone! I also tried the pork rice bowl which was full of melt in your mouth pork belly. It was generous but very very oily. I also liked their miso soup and would recommend trying that for sure. The wait time is long for good reason however if you want a place to sit down and chat I'd consider going somewhere else because you need to leave once you are done eating. The food also comes out super quick!

Living in Vancouver Canada we get all the best food in the world. So when I heard about this good ramen place i needed to try to see if this was on par with Vancouver. Believe me this place is close. I give this 5 stars because it will probably be the best in LA

I'm a huge fan of their rich, pork base soup. Their noodles are slightly more thicker and chewier than other ramen houses. I always put garlic, extra ginger, sesame seeds to make the soup even more flavorful. I love their medium boiled seasoned egg that comes with the ramen, and their tender chashu (thick cut pork belly). Don't get me started with their fried rice. They probably fry their rice in pork belly fat, which makes it so extremely mouth watering.
The only downside of this place is the long hours of waiting (unless you beat the wait and come at an odd time), and cash only. I despise cash only policies!

Good, not amazing.. If you are looking for a bowl of ramen worth crying into, go to Tsujita artisan noodles on Sawtelle. We ate at both places in the span of a weekend vacation. The broth at Tsujita had a much greator depth of flavor, the egg was perfectly cooked with just a bit of runny yolk remaining, and the noodles were slightly thicker and had a more home made texture to them. In contrast, the broth at Daikokuya was more like a souped up miso soup, the egg was fully cooked, and the noodles, while much better than dried ramen from the store, didn't hold a candle to Tsujita.
