Terrific spot, Best Thai I've found in LA. Set in a Thai-centric strip of Sherman Way, this restaurant has evolved in its look over the years I've been going here but never varied it its terrific food. I first discovered it with a bunch of CalTech nerds (who are great at finding terrific cheap eats) and at that time it was super down-scale, but crowded with a mix of Thai families and people like us who had found it through friends. The food was amazing, be it vegetarian fare (my choices) or any of the meat categories (and at the time, even included blood dishes). Now almost fifteen years later, the decor has changed (neon, aluminum, global clocks), the menus are now sleek and friendly, but the food remains the same - amazing. And super friendly on the wallet. It's cash only, but they have installed two ATMs in the store. A thai market is next door, so always fun to pop in. Beer and wine avail. The parking lot (front and back) fills quickly in prime hours but... read more

Good food, bad parking. Good pad thai, good pad see-ew, reasonable prices and fast service.

What's not to love, other than the parking?

Good Food, Really Bad Customer Service Went twice to this location and both times were horrible as far as customer service goes. Good food but I got this a really small serving of this dish, not sure what it's called but it was a fried pork, chicken and beef combo. If you really crave Sanamluang, go to the Hollywood location. They're faster and nicer.

Awsome food!!! They have a very extensive menu (over 100 items). there something for everybody from appetizers, salads, noodles, fried rice to specialty dishes. Granted the service is not first class. & guess what the restaurant is open until 3am everyday (according to a very nice parking attendant). No parking fee of course, after all it's in the valley. I think every crazy Hollywood night I end up hungry i'll stop there instead of Denny's.

THE Worst Thai Food I have ever eaten. I just ate at Sanamluang in North Hollywood. It was by far the worst thaI food I have ever eaten. It was tasteless, old, and hideous looking. I got noodles and they were stuck together, flavored with a grand total of soy sauce and then cooked for about 20 minutes too long. My boyfriend got a mixed plate of overcooked pork, duck, and beef. It looked brown and disgusting. The service was horrific as well. We never received our appetizer or drink order. We finally got our appetizer after our main meal (after asking the waitress several times for it), they were literally like spinach wads covered in glue (uncooked flour). They also did not have anything on the menu resembling a coconut milk based curry, which I thought was odd. I typically love thai food but this was the worst thai food I have ever eaten anywhere in the country. Also, there was a very limited vegetarian menu consisting of three tasteless sounding options (ex.... read more

Best Thai in Los Angeles. Love this place. Crowded on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night but come on a weeknight and there's usually immediate seating. But even if you have to wait, do it! You won't be disappointed.

Love the shrimp cakes, soups, and pad thai. All dishes are very flavorful. It's a far cry from the dull stuff you get from Thai take out or the corner restaurant.

Fish is also very good. Great mint leaf chicken that goes well with rice.

Service is not wonderful but it's also acceptable. Dishes are brought out in a timely manner. Water is usually refilled promptly.

Absolutely love it. Best Thai I've had.

Always Good. Sanamluang is one of my family's favorite restaurants . My family members of all ages just simply love it. Out-of-town friends request this restaurant as soon as they arrive LA. Their shrimp cakes is a must have. My personal favorite is Chicken with Mint Leaves. This place is always crowded but we still get quick and nice service.
