One of the great Chelsea neighborhood restaurants.  Authentic Sechuan food served in a "somewhat close" environment.  The Hunan Beef is the best in NY; Smoked Tea Duck is fantastic; and the Sautéed Loofah is superb.  The variety ought to appeal to just about every palate.  Highly recommended for a visit.

So on a busy Saturday night we got in within 10 minutes which was great, we were seated and then had our only hiccup of the night. They forgot about us, we were the little table that could get no service. We were patient though and once we let them know they were great. We got our menus ordered within 5 minutes, then appetizers within another 5. So many great things, but the star is the cucumbers, silly I know but truly excellent. Big thumbs up to the soup dumplings, the don don noodles, the cashew chicken and the cumin lamb. The salt and pepper soft shelled crab was too yummy. Not so traditional it was missed the chilis and the scorched scallions but super yummy nonetheless. $80 check for 3 people including beer, 3 appetizers and 3 mains. You must eat here if you like a little spice.

Absolute worst experience. Food was delivered cold and extremely greasy Delivery guy was sent to take it back before giving a refund. An hour later, The restaurant called me to tell me that the food was warm. The lady yelled at me for a good 10 minutes. They took my food, yelled at me, then refused to refund the money.

Writing for the location of 368 w 46 th street, ny 10036. My experience was negative in service, the waiter was rushing to served, pack, pushy and the hosted said no manager on duty! The food meaning the was good! I will ever coming back again! Not recommend it to come back this date 061713 at 3:00pm have none swing such as bad in etiquette servers/services, the staff was leaving and I was 3/4 of my vine of glass, sorry for being an European mix Asian... I do not recommit it!!!

The food was great. Cheap for NYC. Got a bit cramped/crowded after 7:30pm. Would very much recommend.
Not fancy but wonderul food. You know its oood when the lines are out the door on the street. Everything is good. Get there early if you have a group of four or more. Many excellent choices. In ten years never had a bad meal.

Spicy as hell! If you are looking for spicy Chinese food then this is the place to go to! There were an unbelievable number of choices on the menu so if you don't know what to order, I recommend reading the reviews OR going with someone who's been there before. There's a "fresh" chicken dish that's outstanding! The portions are manageable so order several dishes to get a good sampling. Also, expect a long wait - especially if you come with a group. The restaurant is popular with locals AND tourists... I definitely expect to go again if I'm in the neighborhood!
Great Meal at Grand Sichuan International. Previous Urbanspooners were spot on -- what a terrific place. We (two adults and one teen age child) had the Cold Noodles, Prawns in Garlic Sauce, Szechuan Green Beans (with no meat) and the Smoked Tea Duck. Though the duck was the stand out dish, all three entrees were excellent and my wife and I will be trying to deconstruct the Cold Noodle sauce for days. And total tab (including two beers)? About $51. We'll be back!

The DUCK!. I'll echo other commenters. Do not miss the Smoked Tea Duck. It is sensational. Other highlights were: Dan dan noodles swimming in a fiery broth of chili oil and black vinegar, Sichuan pickled cabbage which is bright, fresh and FIERY hot. We also had the sour long beans with minced pork which was garlicky and perfect. An incredible meal for two under $40.
