Lobster Roll with skinny, salty fries was great. This was my 3rd time having this item. This time, there was still huge pieces of lobster, BUT too much mayonnaise...too wet ...which overpowered that awesome hotdog bun that had a great buttery flavor.
Pearl, BEST BEST BEST. Was there on a Saturday Night with family, first time there, so we didn't know what to expect.
Ordered mussels, clam chowder ,oysters, shrimps, bouillabaisse, lobster roll. Everything was great. Not as good as Aqua Grill, but i'd say definitely #2. Oysters and shrimp were fresh and great, however my favorite was the lobster roll. Great service, fastest waiters I have ever seen before. Desserts were good too, had blackberry- pear, crumble pie. Great place for great value.

Very good lobster roll. Clam chowder was, meh . . . Fried oysters were great and so was the salt encrusted shrimp.

Mussells in garlic sauce Yum!. Lobster rolls were OK but the standout for the was the mussels in garlic sauce. A tiny dining room but they make up for it in good food at great prices.
The shrimp was perfectly fried with a very nice tartar sauce. A must visit if you are hungry and in the West Village.

A Lobster Roll Should Not Be As Soupy as Lobster Bisque. I don't know if all Lobster Rolls in Manhattan are like this, but if they are some folks need to go to New England and take some serious lessons.

Anything with this much liquid shoul be in a bowl, with crackers on the side. Seriously, this is the second most liquid any lobster has ever been in, and the first was loaded with salt.

Nice funky, little place, but the roll is awful, and the price is over the top. Once was more than enough.

You know the food is good when you see the line waiting for it to open. Best lobster roll I've e er had and the clam chowder is delicious. Try with Belgium ale delirium tremens. Yum.

Loved it. -
Simply delicious
Don't skip on the lobster roll
We all had smiles
A sure bet!. There was really nothing to complain about at Pearl. The wait staff was friendly, smart, and helpful. The food is very, very good. Oysters on the half shell - delicious, sweet, and fresh. Fried oysters - wonderfully fried with a very nice home made tarter sauce. Fried shrimp - fabulous and flavorful. Bouillabaisse - rich broth with impeccably prepared seafood. Wine selection - good and affordable. I would return here in a heartbeat! Showed up 15 minutes before opening (opens 6:00 pm) and had no problem getting a table. (on a weeknight). For a delicious, casual, and affordable seafood experience, Pearl Oyster Bar is a sure bet. Can't be beat.

A +. The ambiance is what won me over, and I didn't even dine in!

I picked up lunch: lobster rolls, shoestring fries, etc.. I arrived in the pouring rain, and it was great to be able to sit at the bar and enjoy a micro-brew with a very friendly staff. The light wood and general design give the place an open feeling, although its quite tiny.

Freshness is what matters most for me with seafood, but the presentation is so fine yet functional that the physical act of eating here is what makes the experience so pleasurable
... best fish I had in 2009!
