Amazing food. Never disappoints! Definitely one of the (if not the) best Chinese restaurants in Redmond. Great service and all the options are great. Favorites include crispy chicken, Dan Dan noodles, and chow mien.

This place is one of the few Chinese restaurants that we go to often. The food is quite authentic and the dishes come out quite fast. We usually order take out, and the typical time is 10 mins. We had lamb with dried tofu, stir fried fish and egg plant with tofu. We asked to reduce salt and oil as well, much too our preference.

Spicy Talk is among the few Chinese restaurants that I like in the Seattle area.
We usually have take outs and finally this last time we went and ate there.  Located in a small strip mall along Cleveland Ave, the restaurant is of decent size with very dark coloured decor -- but we did not go there for decor, and food was good every time whether they were to go or eat in.
My favorite is the Chong Qing hot chicken.  It is basically a Chinese popcorn chicken, well fried dry, tossed with hot red peppers, they are every bit addictive.
Hand shaven noodles are also excellent there.  Chewy with a bounce, deliciously stir fried with soy sauce and different meats and vegetables.  They can also make them in soup noodle format.
Dry cooked string beans are garlicky, spicy and tasty; sizzling beef Szechuan style with lots of onions and tender beef.
I had the spicy wonton and their dumplings as well, they were so so, not wow, not bad.
All the dishes are strong... read more

Great food, so-so service. I've been going to Spicy Talk for three years now, and the food is consistently delicious. I would note however that you should only go when it's not busy. Never go when there's a crowd!

Here's a recap of the last time I made the mistake of going there with two friends while it was busy. The man takes our order, and my friends and I proceed to just hang out as per normal. Well, that's when we notice it's been a while, and other people that were seated after us have already gotten their food. The man doesn't check on us until much later (we were about to leave before he did), and he asks us what we ordered. Seriously? He flips through his massive backlog of orders on his tiny memo pad and can't find our order, so he puts in a new order for us. For our troubles, we received a "Sorry! Sorry!" and nothing else (not even a discount on our drinks or appetizer). So don't expect any sympathy from them or me if you go there when... read more

Wonderful!. Looking at the unassuming, rather shabby exterior of this restaurant located in the same parking lot as busy Frankie's Pizza, you'd think this was just another run of the mill Chinese food take-out restaurant. After a year or so, we finally tried it after reading a couple reviews online. So glad we finally ate here!! Very good food and a fun, energetic atmosphere.

While the food tends toward the oily side, the flavors are intense and well balanced. The spice is wonderful but not overpowering. If you like more spice the chili oil on the table provides it! The green beans with fried tofu are nicely charred and still crisp. The chow mien with hand shaved noodles is yummy. Great, authentic chow mien flavor but more intense and delicious, properly chewy noodles. Hot and sour soup is reminiscent of one of our favorite restaurants in Tacoma that closed long ago. The sizzling rice soup has a wonderfully tasty broth. However, the fish in spicy gravy was the... read more

Stick to the potstickers.

Yummy. I've come here a couple times and the food is great! My favorite is the chow mien with the hand shaven noodles! The portions are big so I always have leftovers that taste just as yummy the next day. Sometimes I think the food can take a bit long to come out, but definitely worth the wait!
Nice Vegetarian Options. Nice find in Redmond. A full page of vegetarian options for dinner. The Lunch special has a few vegetarian options too.
We were a little worried the green beans with fried tofu would be too spicy since the menu indicated 3 chillis (we normally order say Thai food with 1 star), but it wasn't too spicy at all. It was more of a spicy flavor than pure heat so it was quite good.
The sizzling rice soup and the lunch special fried rice were not too exciting though. The hot and sour soup option was quite good though.
Definitely will be heading back to try the dinner vegetarian specials like honey walnut tofu, etc.

First time at Spicy Talk. The family went to Spicy Talk on a pretty busy Friday night. The serive was so-so. There were two servers who where also bussing tables and every one of their tables was full. That being said we were seated promptly. It did take a while for them to come around and take our order. The kitchen was another story. The food came out so fast it appeared they had read our minds. On to the food: The hand shaved chow mein was really good and the honey walnut prawns were quite tasty. The garic green beans had the perfect flavor and crunch and provided some veggies in what was otherwise a greasy meal. My eight year old said the steamed rice was quite good, too...The Sizzling Szechuan Beef on the other hand was not very good at all. I like spicy dishes but this was greasy and the beef was of very poor quality with excess connective tissue and well, you get the idea. This was our first time and we will come back to try some different dishes on our next visit.

The food here is of the gods! We cannot stop going and keep coming back year after year. The chef was even highlighted for his awesomeness in the NYT.
