Spectacularly good. Incredibly fresh ingredients, impeccable service, the best dinner I've had since Per Se in NY. Room was quiet, conversation was easily had.

Being listen number 1 on trip advisor, I had real high expectations for Quince. I did enjoy the food, the dishes were all very well thought out however I had much higher expectations. None of the dishes gave me the wow factor. The service, I thought could've been a lot better, for a high end dining experience we felt it wouldn't have hurt for some of the waiters to at least smile a bit more. However overall experience was good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here a second time.

cena de 9 platos, atención impecable como un mesero para cada persona, cada plato mejor que el anterior. Bastante caro pero apropiado para un restaurante con 2 estrellas michelin, algo que hay que probar por lo menos una vez en la vida.

Quince Wine List Review

At VinoServant we talk about "Special Occasion Wines", and Quince falls under the category of "Special Occasion Restaurant." The wine list is made up of 600+ wines with the majority hailing from Italy (199 - 24 whites and 175 reds) and France (198 - 92 whites and 106 reds). Given the size of this wine list, and the fact that you can drink wines from the United States (154 - 25 whites and 129 reds) at numerous other restaurants, we are going to focus this review on the best values from Italy and France. The great news is that the list has a number of bottles under $80, and that is rare for a restaurant with the pedigree of Quince.

As with all VinoServant reviews, you will see the price at the restaurant followed by the mark-up over retail and if applicable, a rating from one of the publications listed below (Doyard, Cuvée Vendémiaire, Blanc de Blancs Brut, Vertus | $85 | 1.9x | WS 92 | TP). Mark up of 1.9x translates into a retail... read more

Food is handcrafted works of art!. On my first dinner at Quince we were greeted very pleasantly by the hostess as she opened the outsized glass door to welcome us in. The restaurant is done in clean lines with floor to ceiling windows across the front of the restaurant. Lounging area is well done and very comfortable. Bar area is a nice size and sits off to the right side of the restaurant, there is a feel of elegance in the large room. At the back of the restaurant there is a wall constructed of distressed brick that conceals the wine cellar giving the room some contrast and an edgy personality.

The wait staff was well dress and very pleasant, I enjoyed them. Wine selection was average but not disappointing. One of the major draw backs to the dinner was the Sommelier who had the personality of a substitute teacher looking for a place to hide. He must have found a place to go because he was almost none existent. For a restaurant of this status the... read more

Awesome. Great treatments of fresh seasonal food. The meal is worth the price just for the outstanding service and the OH so great cheese plate. It was a very memorable meal and we can't wait to go back. Wine selection is off the beaten path, even for a boutique restaurant in San Fran.

A Lovely Inspiring Restaurant. It lives up to the hype and deservedly is a San Francisco Standard. It is really inspiring, everything was prepared perfectly, Garganalli, Halibut Tartare, Sweetbreads, and a Souffle was my meal and everything was sublime. You can taste the attention to detail in the preparation in all the food. The wine list is excellent and reasonable. The atmosphere is romantic and the great service adds to the ambience. If I had a restaurant, I would aspire to create food as fantastic as Quinces......

A singular restaurant experience. I had a marvelous dinner at Quince. The menu is a sometimes understated Italian, with local organic, seasonal ingredients. The culinary lineage of the chef shows in what really shines here: Quince marries the care and spotlighting of vibrant ingredients of the Alice Waters school, with the restrained, almost rustic simplicity of classic central Italian food--a beautiful pairing.

The result is unparalleled in my experience--a perfect combination of the meals I've happily enjoyed in restaurants across the country reflecting thirty years of Chez Panisse's influence, and of the wonderful Italian food I had in cities from Rome to Venice, and villages across Tuscany to the Piedmont.

Wow! Do not hesitate; you owe it to yourself to experience Quince.
