Very nice atmosphere of an upscale French bistro than a typical dim sum or Chinese restaurant. The bill can get pretty expensive very quickly if you're not careful though. Their shao lon pao (they call soup dumpling) was absolutely the best one I had even better than Din Tai Fung's. But, it's also most pricy as well. It's worth trying though. At least once.

Disappointing experience regarding service.Having only a night to spend in town a friend had been recommended this place. Arrived at 1:00pm to be placed on a 45 min wait. Fine.
Popular place. We came back 35 min later
And were told 8 mins. Asked at 2:00 when would be seated and hostess said it could be 15-20 more mins, we are busy seating reservations and you'll need to wait. Basically, tough...your time is irrelevant. Screw that we left. We went to City View in ChinaTown and sat right down to a great meal after these frauds wasted 1 hour of our day. They just need to be honest...my time is as important as their profits...I'm sure the food is great but so are 50 other places in SF...if you want people who respect your time...go elsewhere...

best dim sum in SF! a bit pricey and Q is long most of the time, but its totally worth it. Tried everything and most are good. Best is their xiao long pao, and their chilli oil is very good. think they sell it by bottle too if you want to have it at home.

Excellent dimsum, incredibly regulated service that, while attentive, can make for what feels like a busy cafeteria experience. We were seated in a rather dead zone for the carts, so after waiting patiently, we asked to order off the list. We were told to wait, that the cart was coming around. Well, that happened two more times. Just as I was about to lose my patience and leave, a server came by to deliver the xiaolongbao dish we'd been trying in vain to flag down from the carts that kept going by just out of reach.Service improved from there, with one server attentively refilling drinks without having to be flagged, and carts finally making their way to our area as more patrons were seated in adjacent tables.
It is definitely pricey dimsum, but not exorbitant. Stand out dishes were xiaolongbao, and the exceptional seafood-and-basil steamed dumpling. The latter was particularly flavourful, if unconventional. Skip the spring rolls--nothing innovative nor particularly flavourful about this dish. Peking duck bao totally overpriced and not worth the unremarkable experience.

Excellent. Ever wonder what dim sum could be if the staff were considerate and eager to please and the food was beautifully prepared and presented in a quite, elegant environment? Yank Sing is the dim sum version of a wet dream (at least mine). Check out the Korobuta pork dumpling and the Peking duck for one - both reference standard. Not cheap but very good value. Did I mention the patio?

This is some of the best dim sum I've ever had. The service is a notch up from most dim sum locations as well. I thoroughly recommend this if you are a dim sum fan.The baked bao is unusual with its honey touch of sweetness, delicious. The signature pork dumpling is also recommended, as are the turnip cakes which seemed to require our special request to get .
The only downsides were the oversteeped hot tea at its presentation (it is seen presteeping in the restauaunt back) so we switched to chrysanthemum tea, and the not inexpensive cost.

Best dim sum ever. Was in town in February with the family to get away from the cold at home and went here on the recommendation of a friend. Everything was delicious with the highlight being the xialongboa! Service was excellent. The only thing that could deter people is that it is fairly expensive for dim sum. My entire family loved it though and we would come again the next time we are in town.
