I would recommend a reservation for this restaurant, as it's extremely busy. We were sat at the bar, the bartender also was doing the serving for part of the restaurant. He was knowledgeable but very outspoken. We had originally looked up the menu online but found that the menu had changed. I tried the Drunken Chicken which was cooked in cognac and tasted great. They have a large bar with many premium spirits. The atmosphere was great and it felt like an experience rather than just a meal

this is another place that i think i could eat veggies only. love the spicy green beans. from time to time, there is a squash dish that is tasty as well.i can't believe they removed the squid stuffed with duck meat. that was my go to dish to order. i miss it. it makes me sad. i did get the warm banana cake, though. at least they still have that going for them. it's a must do.
we sat in the bar and had dinner. it's their addition and is not as noisy as the dining room during peak times.

Amazing Meal, Incredible Ambiance, Super Service!!!. I recently had the pleasure of working with Will Mason, Monsoon's manager, to plan and arrange a dinner for one of our company's departments. From start to finish, it was a pleasure to work with Will. His friendly demeanor and knowledge of their dishes and beverages made it incredibly easy to plan what turned out to be a lovely evening. Our meal was filled with incredible dishes, unique and fascinating cocktails and wines that paired wonderfully with all of the tastes we had the pleasure of trying. Our meal started off with a number of their small plates. I tried the gỏi cuốn chay (vegetarian fresh rolls,) the chả giò chay (crispy vegetarian rolls, ) and the heirloom tomato salad (with watermelon and goat cheese.) Next up for me was the cá kho tộ (catfish claypot.) The caramelized flavor, mixed with the fresh coconut and lime juice, was simply amazing, and may have been my favorite dish.
My hesitation in declaring the "best dish" came when I was presented with the gà say rượu (drunken chicken.) Although I expected this chicken dish to be similar to what I have ordered at other Vietnamese restaurants the flavors that were introduced were different enough, to bring what I would expect to be just an ordinary, standard "go-to" dish into the running of the "best dish" of the night.
As I stuffed myself full of all of these amazing plates, my co-workers were busy enjoying their own selections. Being that I can't eat beef, I had to pass on a few of the dishes that made their way around the table. It has been over 12 years since I have been able to enjoy a "great piece of steak" and I rarely mourn the "loss" of red meat in my life, but I was more than slightly bummed that I had to pass on these options. The reactions that I heard up and down the table, when the grilled bò là lốt (flank steak wrapped with là lốt leaves) made it way around left me wishing that I could share in the experience. I can't tell you what it was like, but I can tell you what it was like to not eat it....it stunk. Based on their reactions and the fact that it was one of the only dishes that we ordered more of, it is safe to say it is a must when selecting small plates if you eat beef.
Our evening ended with a selection of desserts. The two that I had the chance to try were a flan, which seemed to have a hint of coconut, although I didn't get the chance to ask our awesome server about it, and a chocolate and banana dish, that was pretty deadly. I could have eaten a few servings of it, even after stating that I was so full I wasn't going to eat for at least three days!
All in all, the evening was amazing. Monsoon is a lovely restaurant, that exudes a warm, friendly elegance that makes you want to take a seat, chat with your server, and stay a while; it is obvious that the chef knows what he is doing! Although many of the plates found on their menu may seem to be "standard Vietnamese fare" their use of fresh ingredients and unexpected flavors make every dish and each bite, a memorable experience. I can assure you, I will be back, even if I can't eat the steak!!!!

Đi-đi màu!. Had an order of the cà tím xào asian eggplant (~$12): eggplant with green onion and spicy coconut sauce. Also had an order of ch giò chay crispy vegetarian rolls (~$10): taro, northwest tofu, carrots, and woodear mushrooms. Food was delicious, staff was contemplative, and the ambiance was authentic.
