This restaurant is all about the food - simply the best in DC. With all of the gimmicky small plate theme restaurants making the headlines, this feels refreshingly classic. The atmosphere is office building generic, and the prices high, but you come here for an extraordinary meal with few distractions
The happy hour is amazing. The $6 super Tuscan has no right to be that good. The short rib pasta and the cheese pasta on the bar menu were both fantastic. Free pistachios, olives, and rice balls werea good surprise.

Failing to meet expectations. We had been to Fiola twice before we took our friends there on Friday (8/17). We were very much looking forward to a great food and service experience. However, that was not to be. First off, we were told upon arrival that we would be seated in the bar area because the dining area was being used for a wedding party. We were seated at a small square table, too small for a dinner next to a noisy bar. Clearly, we should have been informed about this when we called to confirm our reservation. We were not. Things went downhill from there. While most of the food served was good, it was not as good as it was on our previous visits. One main course – the branzino – was undersized as well as underwhelming. For such high a la carte pricing, we expected much more quality. As to the service, it was below the standard expected. Finally, upon our departure we complained to the manager who simply gave us his card and said that if we returned... read more

A superior dining experience except the dining room was loud. Very Nice cocktails at the bar reminded me of Restauranr Eve. Had an amazing foie gras dish. Must have been 6 Oz sitting atop a toasted brioche soaked in port and sitting in apple butter.

Next an excellent pasta with a sauce made with sea urchin. Yeah I know but it was terrific.

Nice bottle of Barbarra at 40$ made it all work.

Lovely

Perhaps the best in D.C.. An excellent restaurant all around. Elegant yet relaxed. I've never had a bad dish here. After reviewing restaurants for the Washingtonian Magazine for over 20 years I don't say these things lightly.

Stellar!. Dinner, Service, the whole flow of the evening was fun and truly STELLAR. Bravo!

Fabulous FIOLA. We came here for the first time for a birthday celebration. We were delighted by the service, the setting, and the food. We made early reservations so that we could enjoy a leisurely meal and still make an 8:00 curtain in the Penn Quarter. Our meal was perfectly paced, and the sommelier came through with great by-the-glass recommendations. Fiola has an open, welcoming feel. It is airy and comfortable. Our top priority is food quality, and Fiola did not disappoint. The entrees and desserts were particularly memorable. We'll return soon.
Abcd. Way overrated. Loud. Food was greasy and uninspired. And expensive. Considering the prices, the value was terrible. Perhaps I was there an a bad night but I would never go there again or suggest it to anyone.

Fiola is the place where you can enjoy sophisticated Italian dishes at not-so-expensive price. I really liked the crostini with tuna tartar, the peas with procsiutto and the oxtail sauce macaroni Marche style.
